Our History With Controls
SDRG Controls started in 1978 as a small arm of Scientific Development and Research Group which served to support the growing industrial controls and automation industry. It began by designing the water treatment facilities for United States Steel, which was manufacturing the 40” Alaskan Pipeline. During this time SDRG Controls developed such innovative systems as an analog input module for the infant PLC industry, and Com-trol, a personal computer based industrial control system which was used in the baking and minerals material handling industries. Soon after this, SDRG developed a document management system that would catalog and present technical drawings, instruction manuals, instrument specification sheets, photos, parts lists, and more.
A Tradition of Innovation To Control Systems
In 1998, SDRG Controls reorganized as SDRG Controls 1998. SDRG still maintains the name SDRG Controls and provides innovation, construction, and service of industrial controls and automation systems. We continue our long tradition of innovation and development of the latest in automation and robotics. These efforts include the concept-to-implementation custom design/build of an automated welder for 40-foot aluminum trailers, automated chemical processing, and automated manufacturing of oil field drill pipe. These larger projects are complemented with smaller monitoring and PLC control systems.
